Healthy eating made easy.

Healthy eating habits.

Making the decision to eat well is a big step towards a healthy lifestyle. But it's the steps that come after, that can be the real challenge. Following through and maintaining a healthy diet requires motivation and dedication, and that's where we sometimes fall off the wagon! The good news is, there are ways to make the transition to a more nutritious diet easier (phew!). Here are some healthy eating habits that are definitely worth forming.

1. Eat when you're hungry.
Sounds basic, right? But think about how often you reach for a snack just because it's there. We often eat not because we're hungry, but just because we can. The trick is to make a conscious effort to figure out whether your body actually wants food or not. And if it turns out you are hungry, reach for something that won't give you the guilts after, like a handful of almonds or piece of fresh fruit.

2. Up the H2O.
Switch out soft drinks for all the water you can guzzle. We're talking 8 glasses a day, every day. Before long you'll stop craving the sugary stuff, and you'll look forward to water instead. Trust us – your body will love you for it!

3. Keep a food journal.
Even if you're not the ‘dear diary' type, keeping a food journal is a seriously handy tool that'll help keep you on track. By keeping a pen and paper handy and writing down everything you eat, you'll be able to spot and stop unhealthy habits.

4. Eat Breakfast.
The most important meal of the day isn't one that should be missed. Set the alarm 10 minutes earlier, make sure you've got food in the fridge, or pack something for work. Do whatever it takes to make sure you squeeze a good meal in first thing in the morning. It'll give you more energy, kick start your metabolism, and will help you lose weight. What are you waiting for?!

Make a habit out of following these tips, and you'll find eating healthy comes naturally.
