Latina Fresh

How to get the freshest produce into every meal.

Fresh vs Frozen

It's a debate that's been raging forever (well, at least since freezers were invented), to freeze or not to freeze? Call us biased, but nothing will ever taste as good as really fresh food. But with that said, sometimes that's just not an option. When things are out of season, or when you've got loads of leftovers, there's nothing wrong with heading to the freezer.

In fact, most foods will retain their taste and nutritional value when frozen. Frozen fruits and vegetables have the same minerals and vitamins as fresh, and have only slightly lower levels of calcium, potassium and vitamin C.

Freezing is a great way to keep seasonal and local produce handy throughout the year, and also to keep products that expire quickly on hand.

But remember, if you leave things in there for too long, taste and texture might start to change – and probably not for the better! As a rule of thumb, if it's been in there for longer than 6 months, it's probably time to say goodbye.

Did you know? Latina fresh pasta and sauces can be frozen too! That means you can always have your favourite products like Latina Fresh Lasagne Sheets on hand for any occasion!
